Discover Dalane - trails

Dalane has a network of marked trails – in total 130 km. One of these begins in Vannbassengene in Eigersund and takes you to Ørsdalen in Bjerkreim. Another from Nesvåg in Sokndal to Moi in Lund. Auglend and Vandringshavn (Eigersund)

Nature reserve located on Eigerøy and a fantastic area for coast walks. Traces of fi shing activities stretching back several hundred years. Fishing, grilling and swimming. Car park with WC facilities.

Old Jærbanen (Eigersund)

Sections of the former railroad line between Hellvik and Egersund have been upgraded as hiking cycle trials

Gaudland (Sokndal)

Starting point for several hiking routes.

Heskestad (Lund)

Guided group rambling tours. Refreshments and accommodation
can be booked.

Hetlandsskogen (Bjerkreim)

12 trails through wooden country side. Swimming, fishing (specially for the disabled), car park with WC facilities.

Kongeveien (Lund)

Formerly a Horse and Cart track. Car parking at Eik or Ualand Vannverk (Water Works).

Mysinghåla (Eigersund)

Historic site from WWII. 10 km. from car park.

Solbjørgnibå (Bjerkreim)

446m high hill NW of Solbjørg farm. 1 hour walk from car park

Stavtjørn (Bjerkreim)

Regional Winter sports centre with Alpine skiing. A good spot for families to start their trip both summer and winter. Autumn offers fishing, berry picking or the chance to see sheep being brought down from the hills.

Sætra (Lund)

Out-door activity area, suitable for use all year round. Fishing. Skeet-track. Car parking facilities.

Equipment bank (Lund)

Rental of camping gear – tents etc as well as boats, canoes and kayaks

Vannbassengene (Eigersund)

Nature reserve with several kilometres of marked trails, picnic spots, swimming and fi shing. Car park with WC facilities.

Vinjakula (Bjerkreim)

A demanding tour leads 909 m. above sea level and rewards with panorama views of Dalane

Freshwater located just a short car drive to Tengesdal. Car park with WC facilities.

Kalvenes (Lund)

Fresh water swimming at Rusdal (Hovsherad)

Linepollen (Sokndal)

Within walking distance from Hauge centre. Car park with WC facilities.

Lundevannet (Lund)

Lakeside beach just outside Moi centre.

Skadbergsanden (Eigersund)

500 meter long sandy beach. Sales kiosk, WC facilities and parking.

In total The North Sea Cycle Route passes through 7 countries along the North Sea – in our region the route takes you through Sokndal and Eigersund along the Highway 44.
